vaporizationVietnamese: sự hóa hơi
Còn gọi:Also called: hóa hơi · bay hơi · liquid-to-gas transition

Sự hóa hơi là quá trình chất lỏng chuyển sang trạng thái khí khi các phân tử hấp thụ đủ năng lượng để thắng lực liên phân tử.Vaporization is the process in which a liquid becomes a gas as its molecules absorb enough energy to overcome intermolecular forces.
Intuition: Picture a crowd of people in a room holding hands: to get out the door, each person must pull hard enough to break free of the grip of the neighbors.

Vaporization is the phase change from liquid to gas, which occurs when molecules gain enough kinetic energy to overcome the intermolecular attractions holding them in the liquid. Evaporation takes place at the surface of a liquid at any temperature, not only at the boiling point, while boiling occurs throughout the liquid once its vapor pressure equals the external pressure.
Vaporization is endothermic. The enthalpy of vaporization is the energy required to vaporize one mole of a substance, and its size depends on the strength of the intermolecular forces. Vaporization does not break bonds within molecules, and the external pressure affects the boiling temperature.
Dùng để tính nhiệt trao đổi, số mol hoặc entanpi hóa hơi tại điểm sôi khi biết hai đại lượng còn lại.Use this to find the heat exchanged, the number of moles, or the enthalpy of vaporization at the boiling point when the other two quantities are known.

Dùng hai cặp áp suất hơi–nhiệt độ để suy ra entanpi hóa hơi hoặc dự đoán áp suất hơi ở nhiệt độ khác.Use two vapor pressure–temperature pairs to determine the enthalpy of vaporization or to predict the vapor pressure at another temperature.

Vaporization does not break bonds inside molecules.
It only overcomes intermolecular forces, so each molecule enters the gas phase intact.
Condensation reverses the sign, and total heat also requires the number of moles.
The enthalpy of vaporization is a per-mole value; vaporization absorbs heat while condensation releases it.
Along the flat boiling plateau of a heating curve, the temperature stays constant.
The added heat raises potential energy to overcome attractions rather than average kinetic energy, until all the liquid is gone.
Khi so sánh entanpi hóa hơi, hãy nêu đúng lực liên phân tử.
When comparing enthalpies of vaporization, name the intermolecular forces correctly.
Identify each force and link it to molecular structure instead of blaming differences on bonds within molecules.
Before calculating phase-change heat, write down the moles, the sign, and the direction of the change.
Decide whether the system absorbs or releases energy, then multiply the molar enthalpy by the moles and keep the units.
