end pointVietnamese: điểm cuối

Điểm cuối là thời điểm chất chỉ thị đổi màu trong quá trình chuẩn độ, báo hiệu phản ứng đã hoàn tất.The end point is the moment during a titration when the indicator changes color, signaling that the reaction is complete.
Intuition: Picture filling a glass with water until it overflows: the equivalence point is the instant the glass is exactly full, while the end point is the instant you see water spill over the rim and stop pouring.
The end point in a titration is the moment the indicator changes color and the experimenter stops adding titrant. It is an observable event, caused by a change in the pH or chemical properties of the solution. The end point serves as an estimate of the equivalence point, where the amount of titrant added is exactly enough to react with the analyte in the stoichiometric ratio. In an acid–base titration, choosing an indicator that changes color near the steep rise in pH keeps the two points close together and reduces error.
The end point is not the equivalence point.
The end point is the color change you observe, while the equivalence point is where the reactants are present in exactly the stoichiometric ratio. When you calculate from the volume you read off the burette, state the assumption that the two points nearly coincide.
In a weak acid–strong base titration, do not assume the end point lies at pH 7.
At the equivalence point, the conjugate base raises the pH above 7. Phenolphthalein is a sensible choice, whereas methyl orange changes color far too early.
Titrating past the end point makes the calculated concentration too high.
The recorded titrant volume increases when excess is added, so using that volume inflates the moles and the concentration of the analyte.
Với potassium permanganate, chờ màu hồng nhạt bền khoảng 30 giây.
Ion tím đậm còn gần như không màu, nên dung dịch tự chỉ thị; màu thoáng qua chưa phải điểm cuối.
Phân biệt dữ kiện điểm cuối với điểm tương đương.
Nếu dùng thể tích điểm cuối để tính, nêu giả thiết hai điểm xấp xỉ nhau. Đổi mL sang L trước khi thay số.
With potassium permanganate, wait for a faint pink color that persists for about 30 seconds.
The ion is deep purple while is nearly colorless, so the solution is self-indicating; a color that flashes and fades is not yet the end point.
Distinguish end point data from equivalence point data.
If you use the end point volume in a calculation, state the assumption that the two points nearly coincide, and convert mL to L before substituting numbers.
