subjectsVietnamese: đối tượng nghiên cứu

Đối tượng nghiên cứu là các đơn vị thực nghiệm — người, động vật hoặc vật thể — trực tiếp nhận tác động xử lý và cung cấp dữ liệu đo lường.Subjects are the experimental units — people, animals, or objects — that actually receive a treatment and supply the measured data.
Trực giác: Giống như người thử thuốc trong thử nghiệm lâm sàng — họ không chỉ được quan sát từ xa mà còn trực tiếp uống thuốc hoặc nhận giả dược để xem điều gì xảy ra.Intuition: Think of volunteers in a clinical trial: they are not just watched from a distance — each one actually swallows the drug or the placebo so researchers can see what happens.
In experimental design, the subjects are the units — people, animals, or objects — that receive a treatment directly and provide the response data. When those units are people, the word "subjects" signals that an experiment is taking place, unlike an observational study, where the researcher observes units without intervening.
In an experiment with random assignment, assigning subjects to treatment groups at random reduces the influence of confounding variables. The number of subjects affects the power of a test, but it is limited in practice by cost, ethics, and feasibility.
People who merely answer a survey are not subjects in the experimental sense.
Subjects receive a treatment directly, while survey respondents are only questioned or observed.
Results from volunteers cannot automatically be generalized to a whole population.
Because volunteers are not randomly selected from the population, conclusions must be limited to the group that actually participated.
Do not apply the 10% condition when no sampling has taken place.
The condition applies to sampling without replacement from a finite population. In an experiment on volunteers, check that treatments were randomly assigned instead.
An experimental conclusion should state both causation and its scope.
Random assignment of treatments supports a cause-and-effect conclusion, but if the subjects are volunteers, limit the conclusion to the participating group.
Decide whether the data came from sampling or from assignment.
For an experiment on volunteers, cite random assignment and skip the 10% condition; for a survey sampling without replacement, check .
